[PT] É tempo de voltar às “guitarradas” no Now Playing... , e fazemo-lo com uma música proveniente de uma banda que juntou dois monstros sagrados, Chris Cornell, dos Soundgarden, e Tom Morello, dos Rage Against the Machine. Falamos, como alguns decerto saberão, dos Audioslave, um supergrupo cuja infelizmente curta discografia (três álbuns) merece ser ouvida de fio a pavio.
O tema que partilhamos esta semana, intitulado Gasoline, é extraído do álbum de estreia e homónimo da banda, lançado em 2002, e mesmo que o seu significado aparente não estar propriamente ligado aos automóveis, transmite uma sensação de catarse que encaixa muito bem com uma volta de carro em ritmo despreocupado. E aí sim, o Burning that Gasoline que ouvimos várias vezes no decorrer desta música faz todo o sentido.

[EN] It's time to return to guitar riffs on Now Playing... , and we do so with a song from a band that joined two rock gods, Chris Cornell, from Soundgarden, and Tom Morello, from Rage Against the Machine. We're sure some of you already got there, but we're talking about Audioslave, a supergroup with an unfortunately small discography (three records) that deserves to be listened in its entirety.
Gasoline, the title of the song we share this week, comes from the eponymous debut album of the band, released in 2002. Although its meaning is not related with cars, it transmits a sensation of catharsis that fits very well with a not so mpg-friendly drive. That's where the Burning that Gasoline part of the song starts to make sense.
